Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed.” Proverbs 15:22

Biography

Hello my name is Daniel Mehrabian. I am married to my beautiful wife Arevik and we live in Los Angeles. I have been a school guidance counselor in Compton for the last 5 years and will be heading COACHURCH Soul Care ministry this upcoming fall of 2009.

“I am particularly interested in engaging and challenging youth...”

I received both my Bachelor's degree in Sociology and my Master's degree in Education specializing in counseling from UCLA. I later earned my Pupil Personnel Services credential from Point Loma Nazarene University in Arcadia. I came to a crossroads in my life where I experienced an intellectual and personal stagnation. Even though I received a great education at UCLA, I felt unfulfilled and intellectually dissatisfied.

It was during this time of searching in my life when I met a stranger then (my mentor now) who suggested that I read as much about my name as possible and suggested I may want to start with the book of Daniel who is one of the prophets of the Old Testament. I took him up on his offer and after reading the story of Daniel I became fascinated at his faithfulness to and his trust in his God even though he resided in empires that for overtly hostile to his faith. I also was struck at how awesome and faithful the God of Daniel was as He blessed and promoted Daniel for his faithfulness in Him. It was at that point in my life when I started to learn more about the God of the Bible and that's when my life started to change.

Ever since trusting the God of the Bible and His plan of redemption as carried out by His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ my intellectual pursuit has been to fully understand Him. Currently I am working on completing my Doctorate in Theology at the California Pacific School of Theology. My areas of interest are many. I am particularly interested in engaging and challenging youth today to properly understand the meaning of the cross and what Christ has achieved for them. I am also interested in the people of Mount Ararat (Armenians) and their understanding of the work of God in Christ and their responsibility to be light and salt bearers as historically being the first nation to accept Christianity in the year 301.
