Soul Care
Soul Care is a ministry that was first conceived in my mind years ago. I have always had the desire to give back to my community and help youth in general and Armenian youth in particular. God has brought this desire into reality as Arevik and I started to attend the COACHURCH in Glendale. One Sunday at the conclusion of the service as we were leaving the church Daniel Albarian (Pastor of COACHUCH) literally grabbed my wrist and asked to know who we were.
“It is our aim to assist youth to understand their purpose in life...”
As we started talking he learned that I was a counselor and had a desire to work with youth in a Christian setting. He quickly agreed that they had a need for someone who had my credentials and that their associate pastor in charge of the youth ministries was going to be leaving. That is when he asked me to write a proposal to the elders to start a part time ministry through the church to target youth who needed spiritual guidance. That is how Soul Care has come into being.
Vision
Soul care ministry is designed to reach out to the youth of COACHURCH, and youth in the surrounding communities that have a need for direction and guidance in their life. Our goal is to minister to the emotional, social, personal needs of youth by focusing on the spiritual health of the person. We believe that most personal dis-ease results from disconnectedness with the living God. It is further our belief that a person functions in a healthy and wholesome way only when they have the Lord Jesus Christ at the center of their life.
Philosophy
Soul care operates within a Biblical, Christian framework, and exists to fulfill the Scriptural injunction to “bear one another's burdens” (Gal 6:2), and to “love one another as Christ loved us” (John 13:34-35).
Forms
There are several forms related to Soul Care. Most of the forms you will fill out on request of Daniel but is imperative that you fill waiver of liability before the first session.
